Quiz Site

Hello all,

I just finished working on my last project for Interactive Media I. This might have been my absolute favorite project. All of the projects were great, but I think that this is my favorite project because I can use it. I’ve been meaning to learn Danish and maybe sometime after I am completely finished with it I can sell it. Anyhoot, here’s a link to it: http://students.southernlabs.net/tricialorentzen/QuizSite/

There are a lot of things that I want to work on to make it perfect and more user friendly. I’ll work on it during break ;)

Club Website

I was planning on doing the French club website, but their club is having a few difficulties. Since that didn’t work, I emailed a former German teacher of mine to see if she had a German club, but I hadn’t gotten a response. I really wanted to work on a German club website but there wasn’t a German club on the list, I was just hoping that even though it wasn’t on the list it would still be an option. Through all of the searching I have finally found a club that I can make a website for. I will be creating a site for the Preach the Word club. Since they don’t have a logo I will create one for them. I’m so excited! I enjoy making logos :) I will have the logo posted on Wednesday or sometime after I speak with the president of the club.

New Assignment: Club Website

I’m just starting on the new assignment. What the class is supposed to do is to choose from a list on Southern Adventist University’s website a club and to make a website for them. We’re going to interview the leader of the club and based on the answers given, we will create a website. This project is to be done individually. The project will last for about a month. I’m looking forward gaining to my real world experience!

Here is a link to the questionnaire that will be given during the interview with the client:

Landing Page Project: Logo

The landing page project: a cafe theme.
The teacher said to come up with a cafe that we, the class, would like to go to or hang out at.
I created a logo for the cafe landing page that is based on the 18th century.
In 2009 I went to Den Gamle By (the old town/city), a real village from a place in Aarhus, Denmark. I was fascinated by how people from that century lived and how they came to the traditions that they have. There was a tavern that served hot chocolate and other warm drinks. When this assignment came up I thought of the little tavern.
The name of the cafe that I created is Hygge Te. There is no translation for Hygge in English, but the closest thing to it is “cozy”. A way that they Danes would have Hygge, during the Winter when it’s freezing and when they only have 4 to 5 hours of sunlight, would be by sharing warm drinks like tea, coffee, or hot chocolate and to light several candles. So, in essence, the name of my cafe in English is “Cozy” Tea.

FÆRDIG! FÆRDIG! FÆRDIG!

Nu er jeg færdig!  Skål ;)

What did I do today?  I added the following to my website: logo with margins in css, i put in a banner (a picture that I had taken), the footer with my contact information, i added the 2 icons to the footer (practiced what kinds of link I should have in the icons), I added a menu with contact form and 4 pictures for portfolio in the work link, i moved the search field in css, etc.

Theme For Website

Since my logo is a Viking ship, I gave my background a picture of the ocean (I took it when I was in Vesterhavet, Denmark).  I chose to make my logo with a Viking ship because the first Christmas that I spent with my boyfriend (now my husband) he gave me a beautiful necklace with a Viking ship.

Sometime today I will add more stuff to my website.  I have yet to add the projects that I have made.
